Huai Yot
Huai Yot is a small town with 7000 inhabitants, situated in the Trang province in Southern Thailand.
Huai Yot is known for its friendly and hospitable inhabitants. The pace of the city is slow compared to most places in Europe.
Here are rarely tourists, as most prefer to be where they have the same facilities as at home.
That is not the case here. There are no western restaurants. Most people speak very little or no English.

What have Huai Yot to offer, you might think?
Huai Yot is a very good starting point for day trips around an area, with many waterfalls, mountains, caves, Buddhist temples and beaches only a few know.
Would you like to go several days, there is a sea of islands in the area. Some are well-known by tourists, others hardly.
The town has many restaurants with many Thai and Chinese specialties.
Although you want to stay here a month, it is possible to eat in a new location every day.
The food is very good and it is much cheaper than at the tourist sites. |
Golf.
Would you like to play golf? There is an 18 hole golf course, approx. 12 km from Huai Yot.
It is unknown by tourists, so it is very cheap to play there.
The House
The house is located in the towns only residential area. We live here as well, 150 meters from the house.
The house is simple, without much luxury. It consists of a lounge, a dining room, a kitchen, a bathroom with hot and cold shower and 2 bedrooms.
The house is best suited for 2 persons, but it is possible to sleep up to 4 persons.
Shopping
100 meters from the house is a small supermarket, which has many things for the everyday consumers. In the city's commercial street (Phetkaseam Road), located 1 km from the house, are shops that have most things you might need. There is also a 7-11 store, which has open 24 hours a day.
If you want to go to a large shopping centre, there is a Tesco Lotus Centre in Trang approx. 28 km from Huai Yot. We go there 2 times a week and you are very welcome to go with us.
About Us
My wife Ying and I love the area here. Mostly because of the people here, but also because tourists do not come, and try to do change the place, to suit the western culture.
The culture here
My wife is a known face in town. People like us and like our guests to.
We are in rural surroundings, and there are a few other rules here than at tourist sites.
